About The Tour

Working horses are part of our heritage as the palace itself. Henry VIII was the first to start breeding Shire horses as he wanted a Great War Horse, capable of carrying a knight in full armour.

Still classed as the largest horses in the world and even rarer than the Giant Panda, we welcome you to come and meet the descendants of Henry's great horses at Hampton Court Palace.

Climb aboard your carriage and be taken around the Great Fountain Garden and Home Park on a 45 minute tour. Afterwards, have the option to enjoy a sumptuous breakfast before enjoying other palace histories on your choice of either a roof top tour or a history tour around the palace.
