About The Tour

This is a fabulous walk in the very eclectic and unspoilt vibrant part of London with China Town at its heart, great Victorian Pubs, narrow streets mercifully undamaged by WW2 bombing raids, Film Companies, Jazz Clubs, a very cosmopolitan Gay Village with pubs and restaurants, foodie market, hidden churches and so much more ...

On this walk you will see how a once seedy area has changed over time, but still has the air of edginess that attracts Londoners and.

Once a hangout for the Mods in the swinging 60’s, also pubs for the rockers, clubs frequented by New Romantics and punks, the old Marque club, private members clubs and hotels, recording studios and cafes with pavement dining and drinking, it is not hard to see why so many flock to this part of town for the ultimate night out or lunch meet-up. We will see where television was first shown, where the Beatles had some of their most famous pictures taken by Dezo Hoffman, London’s first real Italian all night coffee shop and an authentic pre-war French patisserie.

This was an area known for revolutionaries, journalists and politicians, bohemians and dandies, aristocrats, emigrants, sex workers, the great and the ugly, many current celebrities and bands, Trident recording studio’s used by David Bowie, Queen and the Beatles and many more. Still one of our favourite parts of London to this day as no day in Soho is dull!
