Crop
Circles & Wessex from the air
BRITISH TOURS 2003 SPECIAL
Mysterious
Crop Circles, Majestic Cathedrals and Pre-historic
Britain seen from the ground and from the air.
A
9 hour tour by car with your personal expert driver guide
and helicopter for the best view of prehistoric
Wessex.
See a landscape marked by sacred hills, rings, mounds
and henges, historic cathedrals, a vale of ancient White
Horses and a Roman 200 ft Turf Giant cut into hilltops of
chalk.
During the Summer crop circles in amazingly complex and
intricate patterns appear overnight in the Wessex
countryside. Debate rages as to whether they are hoaxes or
created by aliens. Suggestions linking them to energy lines
that circle the earth or to ancient pagan sites have been
put forward. Or are they the creation of fakers who use
planks and rope to create these geometric patterns; if so
why has no-one ever seen them in spite of extensive
surveillance!
Your
personal driver-guide will collect you from your hotel and
drive you into Wessex. A private dawn or dusk visit to
Stonehenge is included in this tour. (Quicktime

when this awe-inspiring monument is closed to the public and
you are allowed to walk among these giant sarson stones.
Towering 2l ft (6.4 m) high and weighing up to 50 tons you
will marvel at how stones of such monumental scale were
quarried, transported and erected 5,000 years ago when the
only tools available were made of wood, bone and stone - and
why?
Your tour includes a 45 minute helicopter ride
offering you spectacular aerial views of Wessex County.
Stonehenge; Avebury the largest prehistoric
stone circle in the world; the medieval city of
Salisbury with its magnificent cathedral built in
only 60 years from 1220 to 1280 boasting the tallest spire
in Britain; Winchester, once capital of England, and
its fine Norman cathedral which is 556 ft long and the
longest cathedral in Europe, ancient burial mounds; the
