Hidcote is one of England's loveliest gardens, created by the American-born horticulturist Major Lawrence Johnston at the beginning of the 20th century. The garden is divided by tall hedges and walls giving the impression of a series of outdoor 'rooms' each with their own special character, many with rare shrubs and plant species, and each at their best at different times of the year.
